Stay Motivated To Get What You Want

Successful Woman

Hey guys,

November is upon us, and we have only two months left for the year to focus on our goals. Are you pumped? Are you hyped, or are you like womp, womp? I hope it’s not the latter. Let’s get excited about life! This is huge ladies because not only are we going into a new year, we are going into a new decade! Um, hello! You should be saying to yourself that you are going to do big things for the next ten years. This past year flew by like a hockey player on skates. I can’t believe that the holidays are approaching and there are so many things left for me to do.

I feel like I do not have the time to do it all. My coaching classes have started, and I have a podcast to launch. On top of that, I have my book coming out early next year, so I have to stay in the loop of that as well. Thank God, school is over for me, and I have more free time. I will be honest; I like being busy and productive. It gives me an adrenaline rush and makes me want to do more. However, I was not always this way focused and pumped in this zone. I was the chick who, after work, stayed on the sofa binge-watching shows and yapping on the phone, forgetting about my goals without a purpose in sight. I had given up on myself.

How did I get here?

Well, it was not easy. I was always a go-getter type woman and very independent. However, after my mom died, I fell into a deep depression. I had broken up with my ex at the time, and bad things were happening to me one by one. I was taking major L’s, and I could not understand what was going on. Life as I saw it was dormant, and I was just existing at the game of life and not actually living. One of my girlfriends who was going through some things at the time explained to me how she dealt with her sadness. I asked her what did she do to cope, and she said all she would do is sleep. I understood her because when you go to sleep, you don’t have to think about things. However, my thing was watching TV shows back to back. I explained to her that what we were doing was using coping mechanisms. You have to be careful though, with specific coping mechanisms because they can be harmful to your health. Some examples are using drugs or alcohol. If you use any of those excessively, you can hurt your body, become sick, and be more susceptible to diseases like cancer, and memory problems.

I learned that living a mediocre life was also a form of coping, and guess what? That wasn’t the move either. I mean, really, do you think we were put on this earth for naught? No! We all have a purpose. My up and coming book are about this very blog post. It is about never giving up and fulfilling our destiny even when you do not feel like it. We all give up from time to time, but what matters is that when we are down, we get back up. Our minds play tricks on us, and we choose to live a negative life. We want to live a stagnant life, but guess what?

We were not created for mediocrity.

ALL of us are destined to live fabulous lives. We should be living a life we should be proud of, but it is all up to us. It starts right with your girlfriend. Therefore, you cannot blame anyone else but yourself if you do not go beyond. You have to be your biggest supporter and big yourself up and say, “I got this!”

How do you get to that point of greatness?

You first decide to live a better life. It does not matter if it means you excel at your current job or if you want to start a business. Is your dream could be singing, writing opening a fashion boutique, an online business anything in your heart’s desires. Figure out what you were put on this earth to do and write that goal down so you can see it. Start researching your dream and see what the necessary steps to talk to get what you want in life are. Hey, listen, it does not even have to be anything career-wise it could be anything just put your energy towards what that is and fly high. Get off the sofa. Make time each day for what you want out of life and become disciplined.

You will have to do this for success:

  • Decide that you want more out of life
  • Time Block scheduled periods to work on your goals
  • Get up early on the weekends and work hard on your project
  • Limit time-wasters like talking on the phone and watching TV

You must will yourself for greatness and stick to it. When you are watching TV, say to yourself, “Nah, I can do better than this. I am wasting time when I could be crushing my goals.” Tell yourself you can do that later because you have something far more critical to do, and that is to become the best version of yourself and live your life om purpose!
